French light cavalry officer's saber from the time of the br - Lot 169
French light cavalry officer's saber from the time of the brass mounted consulate. Curved throat blade 830 mm long, blued and gilded in the third part, decorated with trophies of arms enhanced with ground gold. Bronze mounting, short-tailed cap, base of the cap facetted, upper side in melon rib, prominent rivet button. Single guard branch swollen in its centre in a facetted shuttle and bordered by two pearls. Quillon in a forward arched roll, fine mumps in an elongated shuttle with a central rib. Ebony plates squared on the sides and striated on the edges. In a faceted brass sheath, symmetrical brass stinger, two large curved and ribbed bracelets, bearing two brass studs and two brass rings (Condition 1).
