King's bodyguard sword First Restoration. Curved blade with flat back and throat bearing cursive marking "Royal Klingenthal Manufacture November 1814". In addition to two recessed B punches, the right throat bears the marking "Gardes du corps du Roy" surrounded by two fleurs-de-lis, the whole surmounting an allegorical motif representing two crossed fleurs-de-lis flags, a trumpet and a helmet in the Antique style. The other side presents in its throat the radiant sun, the crowned arms of France surrounded by crossed laurels and a trophy of arms. The blade is uniformly grey in the first third. The chased ormolu guard, the main guard branch joins a symmetrical guard plate and splits into three secondary branches supporting the crowned coat of arms of France against a background of drpaeua. Wooden corded fuse, sheathed with dogfish and highlighted with a double filigree of silver wire chevrons. With its red tie. No scabbard.
