Lot including : - a large polychrome aerial view map of Peking with captions, dated October 1, 1936, published by the Peiping Chronicle ( 900 X 1100 mm) - a handsome photo album with imitation leather cover, featuring the personnel of the various sections of the 3rd Company of the 24th Regiment of Senegalese Tirailleurs garrisoned in 1948 at Castlenaudary (11). The front cover bears the regimental insignia of the Bataillon de Marche. Beautiful, detailed photos of the uniforms, barracks service staff and each section (22 black & white photographs from a professional photographer's studio) (Condition 1). - an album of miscellaneous photographs (mountain scenes, armored military maneuvers, etc.) from the pre-war period (khaki uniforms), instruction, gymnastics, train travel, views of Collioure, Castelet, Perpignan and the Gorges de Galamus, life in the barracks, maneuvers, etc. (Condition 1). - a large album of photos relating to the pacification of Algeria, with numerous scenes of military life and landscapes with annotations, typewriter labels and portraits of FLN katiba leaders (very instructive, album captures the atmosphere of the time). - a beautiful 1854 cloth map of France's maritime and land routes in its cardboard travel case.
