Elegant early 18th century Spanish "de patilla" miquelet shotgun. Beautifully crafted, very long barrel (1045mm), smooth octagonal then round, with plate band and half-moon brass front sight in 10 mm caliber. Superb, beautifully crafted locksmith's hallmark in gilded background, difficult to decipher, beautiful "EIBAR" marking on the lower chamfer of the lock body. Iron-mounted weapon, nicely cut, the body of the trigger guard with palm rest bears the same indecipherable hallmark. Half-plate with flaming urn decoration. Attractive varnished walnut frame with checkered grip, frame firmly secured to the barrel by two drawers running right through the barrel, broken whalebone ramrod. Functional mechanism.
