Large percussion travel or combat pistol with lock at the rear. Strong octagonal smooth bore 15mm caliber (24 rounds per pound) Belgian made. The barrel bears a fine gold lettering inlaid with "Canon Tordu". The breech tail, bearing the inertia block and a fixed rise, extends to the bottom of the stock cap. Drawer-mounted barrel, all fittings still retaining fine remnants of the package temper. Varnished blond walnut frame, squared grip, overhanging cap festooned with palmettes carved in relief, slight blistering on the back plate. Functional mechanism. Overall length: 335mm. Chimney probably replaced. Condition 1.
