Rare model 1836 gendarmerie officer's pistol. Round barrel finely rifled with 36 hairline stripes, fixed rear sight and iron front sight, flat bean front plate held by a front crosspiece screw screwed into an elongated counterplate rosette. Signature of the "Manufacture royale de Chatellerault" in cursive, mantelpiece on inertia block. Iron-mounted weapon, mouthpiece joined to the trigger guard by a foot and screwed to the latter. Stock cap forming a primer receptacle. Modern wood frame in light walnut with stamped varnish. Functional mechanism. Uniformly gray steel (Condition 2 )
