Lovely fighting pistol, originally flintlock and converted to percussion. Octagonal barrel, flared muzzle, 48 hairline stripes, in 14-gauge to the pound. Iron-mounted weapon. Heliotrope flower cap. trigger guard engraved with a flowering urn. Flat platinum body. Signed "à Maastricht". One of a pair, with the gunsmith's name on the other. Platinum body also engraved with a leaf scroll and cornucopia. Walnut frame with checkered grip extending to the muzzle. Carving in relief. Barrel stamped ELG (Liège). Total length: 330mm. Blackened wooden ramrod (tip missing). A few cracks discreetly glued to the barrel tile. Functional mechanism. (1-)
