Pistolet de maréchaussée type 1731/33 inspired by the pistols of the Gardes du corps du Roy but with brass fittings and without thumbpiece. Produced by Jean-Baptiste Freconnet. Lock marked JB. Saint-Etienne reception mark ("SE" crowned on the barrel). Long-tailed cap highlighted with a line. Flat trigger guard. Counterplate with fleur-de-lys. Flat gooseneck hammer. Octagonal iron receiver, round barrel with plate, iron front sight. Brass cap finishing the tile under the barrel. Wooden mounting, a few fine joints. Overall length: 575mm including 390mm barrel. Functional mechanism. Condition 2
