Curious and rare flintlock transformation of a Tshinke origi - Lot 160
Curious and rare flintlock transformation of a Tshinke originally designed as a wheel gun. Long octagonal barrel in calibre 9mm, rifling basket. Length of the barrel: 860mm. Raise and adjustable front sight. Barrel marked 1661. Beautiful walnut frame with scrimshaw engraved bone inlays of floral motifs, four-lobed flowers and a superb running deer on a country landscape background. Reinforcements of the lips of the stick and the butt plate by a black horn sheet. Stock with cheek and drawer. Barrel fixed on the frame by pins (two) with rosettes of reinforcement of the passage of pin in bone. Curious flat-bodied lock, primitive flintlock hammer. The upper jaw forming a long pincer with the lower jaw. Swivel battery with three positions forming safety. Trigger guard crossing the body of the lock as on the miquelet weapons and hooking a rear foot of the hammer. The removal of this trigger by the action of a long hair trigger releases the hammer and causes the percussion. Long iron trigger guard forming palm rest. Missing the ramrod. Hood of entry of stick and and upper channel of stick redone. Black horn hood. Missing a pin of barrel. Functional mechanism. (2) Central Europe, 17th century
