Beautiful iron chapel in the style worn during the reign of - Lot 85
Beautiful iron chapel in the style worn during the reign of King Louis XI, "l'Araignée", in gilded and chased iron. The round bomb is embossed with a three-lobed crown in relief, running along the base. A riveted band runs along the base of the bomb, joining the rim with a pointed visor and raised nape. A gilded decoration on a partly amati background decorates the bombe. The bombe is pierced with 8 holes around the perimeter for a headdress, and the inner base of the bombe is covered with a thin strip of fawn leather held in place by numerous rivets. A very evocative and decorative piece. (Condition 2+)
