Six volumes, large 8½ format, ivy-green shagreen, spine with gold-threaded raised bands, gilt title, marbled edges + folio-sized atlas, ½ ivy-green calfskin, smooth spine decorated lengthwise with rocaille metalwork (contemporary binding). The atlas’s joints are scuffed with some skin peeling; a few stains on the atlas’s binding. NEW EDITION, completely revised. It contains numerous PLATES OF VIEWS engraved out-of-size in intaglio on heavy vellum. This copy is enhanced with the BEAUTIFUL ATLAS from the 1837 edition, fully revised and corrected by J.-J.-N. From the library of “Château d’Ancy-le-Franc” [for the atlas], with a heraldic bookplate, and later from the “Hornus” library, with a modern bookplate. ¶ Sabin, 44159.
