[AVIATION - PHOTOGRAPHY]. THIRIAT (Jacqueline). RUNWAY 26. S - Lot 24
[AVIATION - PHOTOGRAPHY]. THIRIAT (Jacqueline). RUNWAY 26. Square folio (approx. 47 x 38 cm), ½ black shagreen, morocco-bound cloth covers, gilt title on the spine. ALBUM OF 90 BLACK-AND-WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS of various sizes (including 7 double-page spreads), mounted on black laid paper, some under labeled tracing paper, featuring views of aircraft (Boeing 727-200, Caravelle, Boeing 747, Boeing 707, Fokker 27, Breguet, Boeing 737, Trident, Douglas DC-9), in flight or on the runway. Jacqueline THIRIAT was likely an airline pilot for AIR FRANCE, as suggested by the first photograph, which shows a “10,000 flight hours – Air France” badge—a prestigious symbol of aviation excellence. ENCLOSED in a black leather briefcase is a collection of 102 black-and-white PHOTOGRAPHS (and a few in color), in various formats, many of which focus on the CONCORDE (aircraft, crews, assembly lines, etc.), including a photograph of the crew of the first Concorde flight (March 2, 1969) with the AUTOGRAPHED SIGNATURES of the four crew members (Michel Retif, André Turcat, Henri Perrier, and Jacques Guignard). Some photographs are captioned and/or bear ink stamps and dates [1955–1974] (S.N.C.A.S.E./Toulouse Plant, Sud-Aviation/Toulouse Plant, Aérospatiale/Toulouse Plant, S.N.I.A.S., France-Soir, etc.). A BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION.
